Privacy Policy

Last updated October 21, 2026

1000off helps you check whether the car you found is available somewhere else for at least $1,000 less. This page explains what we collect and why.

What we collect

We don’t ask for your password, payment details or Social Security number, and we never see your Google password.

How we use it

Who we share it with

We use service providers to run 1000off: Supabase (sign-in and storage), Google (sign-in), MarketCheck (car listings), Anthropic (AI that matches car trim names; it receives car details only, never your name or email) and Vercel (hosting). They process data on our behalf. We don’t sell your personal information, and we never sell or share your email address with dealers. If you ask us to help with something like transport, we’ll share the details needed for that request only with your permission.

The 1000off browser extension

The 1000off extension for Chrome works only on car listing pages. When you click its button or toolbar icon, it reads the listing you’re viewing — the page address, VIN, price, mileage, year, make, model and photo — and sends those details to 1000off so we can check for a lower price. The result appears on the page, and “View deal” opens 1000off.com. It doesn’t read other pages, your browsing history, passwords, or form entries, and it sends nothing until you click. The details it sends are handled like any other search, as described above. The extension also sends an anonymous notice when it’s installed, updated or removed, so we can count how many people use it. That notice contains only the extension version and a random number, never anything about you.

Your choices

You can use the price check without signing in. To see or delete the information linked to your account, email us and we’ll take care of it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
