- 2007–2021 (2nd generation): SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition and TRD Pro, mostly with the 5.7 V8. Simple and long-lasting.
- 2022 and later (3rd generation): twin-turbo V6 or the i-FORCE MAX hybrid, with a much more modern interior. Trims add the luxury Capstone.
- SR5 is the most common trim.
Where Tundra buyers overpay
- Old versus new. A 2021 and a 2022 are very different trucks. Compare within the same generation.
- The engine recall. Toyota recalled many 2022–2023 Tundras to replace engines that could fail. Check with a VIN lookup that the recall has been done.
- Cab and bed. CrewMax costs more than Double Cab. Compare the same build.
