Which Silverado to look for
- 2019–2021 (4th generation): WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ and High Country.
- 2022 refresh: a much nicer interior and bigger screens, plus the ZR2 off-road trim.
- Engines: 2.7 turbo four-cylinder, 5.3 V8, 6.2 V8 and the 3.0 Duramax diesel.
Where Silverado buyers overpay
- The 2022 "LTD." For 2022, Chevy sold both the old design (badged Silverado 1500 LTD) and the refreshed truck. They're priced very differently. Check which one you're looking at.
- Crew Cab versus Double Cab. Crew Cab trucks cost more. Compare the same cab.
- Trim names. An LT Trail Boss and a Custom Trail Boss are different trucks. A VIN lookup will tell you.
- Add-ons. Lifts, wheels and tint don't add the value sellers ask for.
